2008 FOG CITY FANTASY WEEK 11 NOTEBOOK

FOGCITY WEEK 11 IN REVIEW

FROM THE COMMISH --- Week 11 has come and gone, and nothing is clear as of yet at the top, though things are quite clear at the bottom at this point.......in the East, the Gurus won again to run their record to a league best 9-2, while Whitey played its poorest game of the season and fell to 8-3, one game back.....Whitey does own the tiebreaker at this point, having won its earlier matchup with the Gurus, and they will meet again on the season's final day, in Week 14......the Planes Crashing into Buildings also won and upped their record to 4-7, pulling to within a game of a wild-card slot themselves.....in the Central, both Wahoo and the Turtles won, and both are now 8-3, with Wahoo holding the tiebreaker at press time.....the teams will meet again, like the scenario in the East, on the season's final day......Cannabis fell to Wahoo, and fell to 6-5 in their own right, still in position to make a strong push for a wild-card, though it now cannot win the Central, while the Burden fell to the Turtles, dropping them back under the .500 mark at 5-6, still holding on to #7 seed if the season were to end today.....lastly, in the West, the Bungholes took another major step in their "Beer to Bill" efforts, with bill meaning $100, as they opened a 1-game lead and moved to 6-5........the Tall Buds fell to 5-6 and out of first place, dropping their 3rd straight game, and advancing winner Maximus back into the wild card hunt themselves at 4-7..............this week, Week 12, I will be out of town, and there will be minimal updates, though the Gurus will have a scoring update at some point on the Yahoo site on Sunday or Monday Night..........thus, there will be no notes for Week 12.........also keep in mind that soon thereafter, Thanksgiving is upon us, and there are 3 games annually now, so there will be several players playing that day......the Thursday rule still applies, so you don't need to put in a full lineup until Sunday AM......I will return the Friday following Thanksgiving, and though there will be no notes, standings will be updated, along with any new news on the playoff scenario front, on the Yahoo site anyways.....

PREVIEWING THE BIG DANCE--- ...First in the East, where the Gurus hold a 1-game lead over Whitey......if they go into Week 14 under the same guise, and Whitey wins, Whitey would win the divison by way of a season sweep over the G Men......the Planes Crashing are 4-7, and just one game out of a playoff spot themselves....they also hold the tiebreaker over the other 4-7 club, Maximus, as well as one of the 5 win teams ahead of them, in the Burden................in the Central, Wahoo is tied with the Turtles, and as long as only 1 game separates them going in Week 14, that game would be for the division crown.......both clubs clinched a playoff spot with their wins this past week.............Cannabis Club is 6-5, and can also clinch a playoff spot this week, potentially............WM Burden is now 5-6, but currently holds the #7 seed if the season were to end today............in the West, the Bungholes are in 1st place all by themselves at 6-5, and can clinch the division this week with a win, and a loss by the Tall Buds, since the 'Holes are already sporting a 4-0 divisional mark........the Buds currently hold the #8 seed at 5-6, with both Maximus and the Planes hot on their tales...........Maximus with their win is still only 4-7, but not only are they 1 game out of a playoff spot, they can also still win the division if they win out, and the Bungholes lose out.............the Fat Girls with Pretty Faces are all but eliminated from playoff contention, at 3-8........they could still get in by winning the 3 remaining games, and having about 1/2 dozen other things happen................

BEER IS GOOD FOOD--- ...the Honey Bears have done it..........a missed 4th quarter FG left them with a 1-pt defeat to the Gurus, bringing them their 11th loss without a win this year, and clinching the keg for next season as well....the Bears are 3 games behind the Fat Girls, but have already lost that matchup........the only thing left for the Bears is to try and avoid the league's first winless season, at 0-14...........

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW --- This year, you will not be called in from the kitchen to draft. You will not be called from the yard, or the bathroom, or the bong. Each owner has 2 minutes to select; after that, you you will forfeit that next pick until after the draft ends! No excuses. With twelve teams and lots of experience, let's make this a tidy draft shall we, just like last year!! Also remember the basics during the year:

*lineups are due via email before kickoff of the week's first game

*each team is allowed to make unlimited transactions

*trades are encouraged, and can be made anytime up to the trade deadline

*trade deadline has passed...

*players waived after the trade deadline are essentially on taxi squad

*moves and lineups will be submitted to the same yahoo site from last year
